Modern Art Movement is a timeline of art movements which occurred from 1870s to 1990s.

During 1872 to 1892 Impressionism can be summarized by masters of color and light marked by a radical departure from the realistic academic painting that had dominated the prior eras.

Key artists are: Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissarro, Edgar Degas, Edouard Manet, Mary Cassatt and others.
